Snyder’s Flats Death – The Waterloo Regional Police has confirmed the death of a 25-year-old man who drowned to death at Snyder’s Flats in Bloomingdale on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 as accidental.

According to reports, a group of friends were at the beach at the conservation area before the man went under water.

At about 10.00 a.m, the emergency services responded to a call on a possible drowning, and upon their arrival to the site saw a man pulled out from water.

Road blocks was immediately set up close to the entrance of Snyder’s Flats Road, near Sawmill Road, to prevent vehicles from driving towards the conservation area, according to investigators.

This death is ruled as accidental and is recorded as the second drowning incident in Snyder’s Flats this summer.

The first was the drowning of a 5-year-old girl who wandered into the pond last month. She was later rescued and taken to the hospital where she later died.
