Crescent Falls Death – The police have confirmed the death of three family members identified as Anoop Kumar Oad, 25, Dr. Partab Rai Oad, 38, Venjhar Oad, 38, who drowned to death on Tuesday, August 11 in the Crescent Falls.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the trio were swimming at the bottom of Crescent Falls on the Bighorn River in west-central Alberta. While they were swimming one of them got swept by the current and went under the falls and the other two tried to help but also got swept under the water, says RCMP.

The Rocky Mountain House and Nordegg search and rescue team received the report of a drowning incident before 8.p.m at the falls, about 26 kilometres from Nordegg, and immediately swung into action.
The three victims lived in Edmonton, says RCMP.
According to reports, 25-year-old Anoop Kumar Oad, was studying engineering at the University of Alberta and was an exchange student from Pakistan. The other two victims were his uncle and aunt.
The confirmation of their identities was made on Wednesday, August 12, by Anoop’s uncle Dileep Kumar Oad.
In Dileep Kumar Oad’s word to the government, he said through a Facebook post: “We wish for them to put up signs in spots like this where people can be washed away and lose their lives in storms.”
Their bodies were later found and resuscitation process was administered but all proved futile.
