There was 3-vehicle crash in Overland and four elementary school sisters walking to school were hit and hurt – Police in suburban Kansas City says.

Nobody is reported dead in the accident. The kids were moved to local hospital by EMS.

According to statement by Shawnee Mission School District, the accident were not caused by the 4 children. Three vehicles just got into an accident.

“We are providing additional support for the students in the form of counselors. This accident appears not to be connected to crossing guards, or any action by the students, but rather, three vehicles that got into an accident, and struck the students.”

The Overland Park Police Department told WDAF that the girls, all sisters, waiting to cross 87th Street near Grant Street at around 8 a.m. Thursday. Police say two westbound cars struck an eastbound vehicle that was turning left.

The accident forced one of the vehicles involved onto the corner of the sidewalk and into the school kids.

EMS transported the girls and one of the drivers to a local hospital. All are in stable condition.

Police are investigating whether any traffic laws were violated. No names have been released.
