Lawrence Joe Whitty, who hailed from Des Lacs has passed away. Lawrence is the founder of Happy Joe Pizzza. It all started as a family restaurant before he turned it into a multi-million dollar business based in Bettendorf, Iowa.
Lawrence Whitty died Tuesday. He was born in Minot on Sept. 10, 1937, as one of five children of Lawrence and Roberta Whitty.
