Baby Derringer death

Authorities have identified the baby that died in a crash on U.S. 31 in Athens as Everly Derringer. An 11-year-old baby. According to Chief Floyd Johnson, baby Derringer was riding in a car seat, which was perfectly installed, before he car she was in involved in an accident.

Limestone County Coroner Mike West said Derringer was declared dead at a hospital. The accident was a three-vehicle crash which occurred around 11 a.m. at the Elm Street intersection on U.S. 31.

“Currently the investigation into the cause of this accident is continuing,” Johnson said in a news release.
