Missing Person: Have you seen this man? Please help find him.
According to news reaching us now, the police are asking for help from the public in locating a missing Kāpiti man who has been missing for days. the authorities said searchers scour streets and hills for him but he has not yet been found.
Police said multiple search and rescue teams have been out looking for 63-year-old Joe Pryor, so far without success. the police believed Joe who has not been seen since last week, is still in the wider Wellington region and they will be out searching for him again on Tuesday.
The circumstances surround the disappearance of Joe are not currently being treated as suspicious according to the police. CCTV footage shows Joe Pryor leaving the Metco engineering workshop on foot at about 8.05am and wrote “be back at 10.30” on a whiteboard.
Police received a possible sighting of Joe Pryor between 8.15am and 8.20am on Friday, walking eastwards on Elizabeth St in Waikanae. He is described as wearing blue overalls, carrying a backpack and putting on an orange and white bucket hat.
Joe’s daughter Shannon Barclay has been involved in the search, and she said the search team had been inundated with people wanting to help find her father. Barclay’s partner, Quenton Buser, has been coordinating the search and said about 100 people were involved on Monday.
The search has been based out of Metco Engineering on Omahi St where Pryor worked. His boss, Paul Jessup, said the company had shifted its operations on to a night shift to keep out of the search team’s way. He said arrangements were being made to contract a helicopter and infrared camera to scan the hills near Waikanae.
