It is with great sadness that we write to inform members of the passing of long standing Kingsknowe member Maurice McCann Snr.
Maurice has been a member of Kingsknowe for 69 years having joined at the age of 12 and served on the Committee as greens convenor for a number of years.
Alongside his good friend Mathew Anderson, Maurice was recognised as one of the founding fathers of both the Hailes golf Club and the 24 Club.
Maurice was a very proud team player in the late 1970’s and early 80’s.
Maurice will be sadly missed by all who knew him and leaves a legacy at the club of five sons who are members of the club.
He was extremely proud when he was able to see one of his sons Maurice Jnr became Vice-Captain earlier this year.
We will provide details of the funeral arrangements once they become clear.
The family hope that as many Kingsknowe members as possible will be able to assist in celebrating the life of this wonderful gentleman.
