dead-death-1-2

An undergrad student of University of Illinois at Chicago was found unconscious in a car parked in a school lot.

Ruth George died on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at the age of 19. Cause of death was ruled a homicide. George was strangled at the back seat of car, according to Chicago Fire Department.

UIC police Chief Kevin Booker said Sunday in a statement that a person of interest was in custody, and the suspect has no affiliation with UIC.

According to report, people called 911 after finding George unconscious in the back seat of a car. Paramedics were reportedly in the 700 block of West Taylor Street in the University Village neighborhood around 11:15 a.m.

George was reported to be in a family-owned vehicle, and was seen alone when arriving at the parking garage about 1:30 a.m. Saturday. The person now in custody had entered the garage shortly afterward, Booker said.
