Death & Obituary: John Michael Eckweiler, a 39-year-old man from Columbia has tragically passed away. Eckweiler died on Thursday, November 28, in a single car accident.
The vehicle crash happened on Garners Ferry Road, according the Richland County Coroner, Gary Watts.
According to report, Eckweiler was traveling in the vehicle which he was the driver, for reasons not known, he traveled off the road, and then over-steered and the vehicle overturned.
The accident occurred on Thursday at 3:30 a.m. Eckweiler was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy, said Watts, revealed that the cause of death was blunt force injuries to the upper torso.
