Ian McCrorie ( Mr Ian McRorie ) Death
Ian McCrorie who taught chemistry and was assistant rector at Greenock Academy, passed away.
McCrorie died on Friday, December 6, 2019 at the age of 75. He lived in Greenock all his life. His cause of death has not been made public.
Ian was highly respected in many aspects of life in Inverclyde including education, music, Clyde ferries and steamers and the church.
Ian McCrorie was awarded the MBE for services to music and the community of Inverclyde in the Queen’s Birthday Honours in 2007.

Very saddened to hear of the passing of a great @CalMacFerries supporter and author of books on the company, Mr Ian McRorie. Mr McCrorie was also a well respected Chemistry teacher at Greenock Academy, I count myself fortunate to have been taught by him. He will be sadly missed.
