Tributes To Marvin Goodfriend
This came from nowhere imagine if he were on the fed. Goodfriend had been nominated by Trump in 2017 for a fed board seat (ended up in limbo by senate republicans in particular Rand Paul unhappy with his views on neg rates). He was 69 yrs old, RIP.https://t.co/oGOTNcmX5K

In memory of Dr. Marvin Goodfriend, I am putting up my writeup on him when he was a candidate for the FED board.
The FED is adopting many of his policy recommendations today such as average inflation targeting and replacing Zero Lower Bound with Effective Lower Bound https://t.co/rV23WJW2rN

Sorry to hear of Marvin Goodfriend’s passing. Marvin played an important role at the Richmond Fed as Research Director and adviser to President Al Broaddus, before he moved to Carnegie Mellon. A creative thinker and important voice in monetary policy circles. https://t.co/XSo7MHVoDZ

This is terrible and very sad news. I met Marvin Goodfriend only once (when I gave a job talk at @teppercmu). But I always remember our very interesting conversations over dinner. He really cared about the policy impact of economic research. May he rest in peace. https://t.co/UWi7X9ATwY

Very sad news. Marvin was one of the sharpest minds thinking about monetary policy. I treasure the many hours we spent debating, agreeing and disagreeing, and the much I learned from him. May he rest in peace. https://t.co/C5ayPfqH5d
