R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Homes Inc. v. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. It is currently de facto legal in 26 states. This case, resulting from the firing of Aimee Stephens in 2013 – which led to her *death* due to loss of medical coverage – may change that.

BREAKING: The Trump administration just finalized an outrageous rule sanctioning discrimination in health care. This administration is yet again prioritizing rolling back our rights over making us safe during this crisis.

This administration has released this rule – which is targeted at LGBTQ people – during pride month, on the 4th anniversary of the Pulse massacre, and one month after Aimee Stephen’s death. Their cruelty is purposeful and insidious. #PutPatientsFirst https://t.co/t1uFXwJZ7i

Also, just want to thank Aimee Stephens, who died for this. I have zero doubts the discrimination she faced and the stress of the case she brought played a role in her death, but she gave every trans person in America the right to not be fired for existing.

The Aimee Stephens (and others) Saga has been an incredible story of strength and resolve. If you’re interested in today’s historic decision, I recommend you read the opinion itself, and look at The NYT’s interview with Ms Stephens before her death. Both linked below. https://t.co/PTc133vAyi
