Seattle’s Shooting Leaves One Dead – The Seattle Police Department reports of a shooting early Monday morning that killed one person and left another in a critical condition.

According to the Seattle Police Chief, Carmen Best “When investigators arrived, they found a white Jeep Cherokee riddled with bullet holes on 12th Avenue between Pike and Pine,” “Officers were told two men in the vehicle had been shot, but both were gone when officers got there.”

According to the hospital spokesperson, Susan Gregg they were informed that one of the victim was driven to Harborview Medical Center in a private vehicle and arrived at 3:15 a.m. while the second victim who arrived 15 minutes later, was taken to Seattle Fire Department staging area outside the CHOP and transported in an ambulance.

It is stated that one of the victim identified as an African-American adult man, later died in the hospital, while the other victim, an African-American teen is still under critical condition.

As clearly stated by Best, the investigation is hindered by a tampered crime scene “Our homicide detectives searched the Jeep for evidence but there wasn’t much we could find. The typical things we search for in a shooting like this weren’t there and it’s abundantly clear to our detectives that people had been in and out of the car after the shooting.”

Right now, detectives are depending on witnesses to put some piece together as to what led to the shooting, “but as has been the case in other crime scenes up in this area, people are not being cooperative with our requests for help.” Best said.

The Seattle Police haven’t called any suspect or given any  information about circumstances that led to the shooting.

“It’s very fluid, (and) it’s very unfortunate that we have another murder in this area identified as the CHOP,” Best said. “Two African-American men… dead at a place where they  claim to be working for Black Lives Matter but they’re gone. They’re dead now. And we’ve had multiple other incidents — assaults, rapes robbery, shootings — so this is something that’s going to need to change.”

This is noted to be the fourth shooting in the region called the Capitol Hill by the Black Lives Matter Protesters.
