Three Dead After Crash

Three Dead After Crash Accident In San Juan County – Three people died in a crash in San Juan County on Wednesday, authorities said. The crash happened on state Route 276 near mile marker 83 just before 11 p.m.

According to the Department of Public Safety, a driver and two additional occupants were traveling southbound in a Toyato Tacoma when the driver swerved off the right shoulder.

The driver then over-corrected, causing the vehicle to reenter the highway and roll multiple times. All the occupants were pronounced dead on the scene.

Officials said it appears speed was a factor in the crash, and it is also believed the driver may have swerved to avoid hitting a cow.

β€œThe area is open range, and cattle were standing near the roadway upon arrival of emergency vehicles,” according to a DPS statement.

The driver was identified as Wayne C. Palmer, 32. The passengers have been identified as Kyle R. Bailey, 30, and Parker W. Palmer, 30. All three were residents of Blanding.
