Uban Hussan Death-Obituary: A woman in her 30s named Uban Hussan has died following a multiple car crash that happened on on the 1300 block of Newton Avenue North in the Willard-Hay neighborhood.
Minneapolis officers found several cars had crashed into each other and one minivan that had rolled over. Mark Franklin Jr., a driver, 36-year-old driver admitted to using PCP before the crash that claimed Uban Hussan and her 8-month unborn child. Mark is facing charges including criminal vehicular homicide and three separate counts of criminal vehicular operation.
The accident happened around 10:50 p.m. Officers found several cars crashed into each other and one minivan that had rolled over.
Investigations revealed Franklin, who was driving an SUV traveled through the wrong way on Newton Avenue, a one-way street. The SUV first hit a parked car on the 1400 block of Newton before continuing on. The SUV then drove onto the 1300 block of Newton where it hit the minivan and several other vehicles.
Paramedics, firefighters, plus two doctors on the scene from HCMC worked tried so hard to free Hussan from the minivan, but she died before responders could save her.
According to family members, Ubah Hussan was in the passenger seat and Tamam Kharow, another person injured in the accident was driving on their way home.
