Birdseye Highway Crash – The police have reported the death of a 60-year-old Smoky Bay man who was involved in a motor accident at Rudall on the Eyre Peninsula, on Tuesday, July 7.
The police and emergency services swung into action just before 9:30am on Tuesday morning after receiving a call on a crash between a utility and a van on Birdseye Highway at Rudall, west of Cleve.

Unfortunately, the 60-year-old driver of the van did not make it. He died at the scene.
A passenger of the van and driver of the utility sustained minor injuries and were both taken to Cleve Hospital.
The highway was closed for some hours as investigators checked the scene but has since been reopened.
The crash investigation is being handled by the Major Crash Officers.
The man’s death is recorded as the 51st on SA roads compared to 63 at the same time in 2019.
