Man Arrested, Charged With Murder For Stabbing Victim – Police have arrested and charged a man with murder for the fatal stabbing Wednesday at an apartment complex in Southeast Austin.
34-year-old Vincent Serrato is charged with first-degree felony murder for the death of 36-year-old Guadalupe Sanchez Jr.
The Austin Police Department said officers responded to a call of a man with stab wounds inside an apartment at 6119 Fairway Street just off Montopolis Drive and found Sanchez unresponsive. Officers began resuscitation efforts immediately, and EMS took over once they arrived — but despite their efforts, Sanchez succumbed to his wounds.
After talking to witnesses, homicide detectives identified Serrato as a suspect. A murder warrant for Serrato was issued and he was taken into custody Wednesday evening by the Round Rock Police Department. He is currently in custody in the Travis County Jail.
