According to Patrol Sgt. D.K Pearson, Vickie Keyes, 61, of Fayetteville, and Richard Marvin Hooker, 42, also of Fayetteville, were both traveling north on Baywood Road when the accident happened.

The Dodge Ram was behind Keyes’ 2009 Hyundai passenger car as it attempted to make a left on Sanderosa Road. The truck improperly passed on a doubleline and struck the Hyundai, says Pearson.

Jacobs vehicle veered off the road to the left, hit a ditch and rolled several times, ejecting Jacobs, says Pearson.

The occupants of the 2009 Hyundia were injured, although the extent of their injuries was not disclosed. Hooker, was taken to the hospital under non-life threatening injuries.

Hooker was charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle, improper passing and reckless driving.

At the point of the accident, Hooker and Jacobs were not putting on any safety gadget, but it was not clear if Keyes was wearing a seat belt.

A family friend, Anjelica Brayboy, speaks about Jacobs, he says: “He was a special person who would give you the shirt off his back. He loved his family, especially his daughter and fiance.”
