Reaction And Sharing On Social Media
I keep thinking of Kimberly Byrd who taught first grade since 1982 and died of Covid-19 in June while teaching summer school. She was in the same classroom as 2 other teachers and the superintendent said all 3 of them followed CDC guidelines “religiously.” All 3 were infected.

RIP Kimberly Byrd. I read that Mrs. Byrd was much loved by her community and that every family in that part of Gila County, Arizona had a family member who was taught by her. What a way to touch so many lives.

I’ve revisited Kimberly Byrd’s story many times, along with stories about boards meeting for our schools, and then having multiple positive tests, before children are even present. I really wish these stories could lead to more prevailing heads, coming to better conclusions.

Modern American Tragedy. Not that the oligarchs currently in charge of US public education care about teachers like Ms. Kimberly Lopez Byrd of Arizona, or her working-middle-class students.

Kimberly Byrd was an outstanding teacher. Her grief-stricken husband said: “We’ve just felt so lost without her…They have no business opening the schools…Let’s get through this pandemic first.”
Her two co-workers who also caught covid remain seriously ill.

Tell that to the 61 yr Kimberly Byrd a teacher in Arizona who just died 3 weeks ago from covid-19 which she contracted in a summer class with two other teachers who also came down with covid-19. You do not know what you are messing with…COVID-19 is a deadly virus.

It is sad, however let’s be realistic: “Family members said 61-year-old Kimberly Byrd had preexisting health issues including asthma, lupus and diabetes”. So, do not make a mountain out of a molehill.

It is political. The President and the Governor are the ones making decisions here. The President himself called it a “Democrat hoax”. Internal CDC doscumets warn of the high risks involving opening schools. Look up Kimberly Byrd. Teachers have a reason to be worried.

Kimberly Lopez-Byrd. Remember her name because she’s a school teacher here in Phoenix, Az and she died! Not even back in school & teaching online, she’s gone! How many lives are you and the president ok with losing!?
