Jaime Macous Death – As the Albany Police Department continues in their investigation on the early Monday morning fatal shooting that occurred in the 2100 block of Tompkins Avenue, the identity of the man killed has been released as 30-year-old Jaime Macous.

The ugly incident happened before 5:30 a.m on Monday, July 13, 2020.

The police on the said day were on their way to an auto case investigation when the call came in about the gunshots heard in the area.

Upon their arrival, Macous was found dead on Tompkins Avenue

According to Michael Fowler, Dougherty County coroner, “It’s sad. My condolences go out to the families because there’s another person whose going to the grave and another person whose going to wind up going to jail. It just doesn’t make sense.”

He continues by saying he’s seen a rise in shooting deaths since the state started to reopen.

According to him this is the 9th death in Albany-Dougherty County this year.

An autopsy will be done on Macous on Tuesday.

Investigation is still ongoing and there are no suspects at this time.
