Leonard C. Williams Death – A boating accident that took the life of a Baton Rouge man on Saturday, July 11, near Bayou Pigeon is being investigated by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries. The victim has been identified as 59-year-old Leonard C. Williams.

Williams was operating a 15-foot boat along Cross Bayou when the vessel began to sink.

The boat had other two male passengers who jumped out of the boat with Williams, says the LDWF.

According to the two male passengers, they were wearing flotation gear when around 12:30 p.m, a passing boat rescued them but Williams was not wearing a flotation gear.

Williams body was later found in the  bayou by the Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office.

The Iberville Parish Coroner’s Office is carrying out an autopsy to determine the cause of death officially.
