He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to VPD Const. Tania Visintin.

This is recorded as the city’s 8th homicide in this year.

While investigation commenced, on Tuesday the scene of the fatality was taped by police and evidence markers were seen on the ground.

According to the report of a neighbor, Timothy Tejuco, he said shortly after 11 p.m, he and his wife heard foul loud pops on Monday.

“My wife thought it was gunshots, but I said, ‘No, it’s probably just firecrackers. Don’t worry about it.”

About 20 minutes later, he says, he saw a huge police presence arrive at the scene.

Tejuco continues by saying:”I’ve grown up in this area my whole life. Things like this just don’t happen. You hear on the news and you just think to yourself ‘this would never happen here.'”

Although not confirmed, Const. Visintin says the homicide appears to be targeted.

Anyone with any useful information or with surveillance or dashcam footage to contact the Vancouver Police Department.
