David  And Danielle Berlin-Walker Death – The sad passing on of a 5-year-old girl on July 13, after she sustained injuries in a boat collision with her grand father on the Johnson River, a tributary of the Kuskokwim River, has been confirmed by the Alaska state Troopers.

The sad incident occurred on July 12, when David Berlin, 51, of Bethel was steering into a blind turn in his Alweld 18-foot flat-bottom skiff on the Johnson River when another skiff, piloted by Dennis Demientieff of Kasigluk, appeared from the opposite direction.

The two boats turned same way after trying hard to avoid each other.

Demientieff heavier skiff went over Berlin’s, crushing the occupants and killing Berlin at the spot.

The 5-year-old Danielle Berlin-Walker was seriously injured and was taken to the hospital. The child was pronounced dead on Monday, July 13, 2020.

The two other passengers in Berlin’s boat sustained minor injuries.

The troopers were notified by another traveler who came across the accident.

The 9 occupants in Demientieff’s heavier skiff were not injured.

A GoFundMe account to raise money for David and Danielle’s funerals has been set up by Berlin’s family.
