Mayor Scottie Ernst Death – Lincoln County Coroner Marcum Farris has confirmed the passing on of Stanford Mayor Scottie Ernst, who met his tragic end on Tuesday in a mowing accident in the city.
According to Farris, “The mayor was mowing city property when the mower slipped over the edge of a creek bank and rolled down the embankment. He was asphyxiated.”

Farris confirmed that the Mayor regularly did mowing duties for the city, “Oh, yes. He never was afraid to get his hands dirty helping out where he could,” he said.
The fatality happened off Martin Luther King Boulevard near the site where a carbon copy of Fort Logan is being built.
The city is one of the oldest in Kentucky. The city was found in 1775 by Benjamin Logan.
In 2018, Ernst was elected mayor of the city of about 4,000 people.
According to his social media pages, Ernst graduated in 1977 from Lincoln County High School and Mid-America College of Funeral Services in 1981.
