Springdale Police Arrest Boyfriend After Woman Found Dead – Police arrested and charged a Springdale man  Marcus Grogan with leaving the scene of an injury accident after his girlfriend was found dead in the road Wednesday night.

Officers were called to Oakhill Drive at about 10 p.m. Wednesday. When they arrived on the scene, they found a woman’s body lying in the road, covered in blood, according to a press release sent by police.

The woman was identified as Mary Franke, age 40, who lived nearby.

Police knocked on the door at Franke’s home. Her boyfriend, Marcus Grogan, answered. He said Franke was not home and that he hadn’t seen her in a couple of hours.

Grogan told police he and Franke had been fighting. When he left to take his work truck to its storage location, he saw Franke running after him, according to the police preliminary report.

Grogan said that while driving he felt a “small bump,” but didn’t stop to see if he had hit anything.

He said that after he dropped the truck off, he walked back home. He noticed all the police on the street while walking back, according to the report. When he got home, other people in the house asked him where Franke was, but he told them didn’t know.

Grogan was arrested and booked into the Washington County Detention Center.

We express our sympathy and deepest condolences to Franke’s family today and in the days, weeks, months, and years that are to come as they cope with his passing. May his soul rest in peace.
