Avery Meeks Death – The identity of a man who drowned Sunday night after falling into the Milwaukee River has been released on Friday, July 17, 2020, as 24-year-old Avery Meeks, of Milwaukee.
According to the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office report, Meeks was swinging on a branch that broke causing him to fall into the Milwaukee River at the Humboldt Avenue Bridge.
Meeks was at Caesar park with his girlfriend on the sad day, Sunday, July 12, 2020.
It was reported that the bridge has rails underneath, Meeks placed a large stick over the rails, told his girlfriend to take a video while he slide over the water.
Unfortunately, stunt went bad when the branch snapped causing Meeks to fall into the water before he was swept under by a strong current.
His body was later found about 20-30 feet away from where he fell on Tuesday night.
The Milwaukee Fire Department confirms that a strong swirl occurs in that area after rainfall.
