Veetta Shipp Death | Veetta Shipp Obituary – Veetta Shipp has passed away. Last night, July 18, 2020 at 10:16pm, a 28-year-old male was traveling westbound in a Nissan Altima on Refugee Rd. near the Citizens Place intersection. 68-year-old Veetta Shipp of Columbus was a pedestrian in the area who was determined to have been in the lane of travel which was occupied by the oncoming vehicle.
According to reports, Shipp was struck by the Nissan and was transported to Mount Carmel East Hospital where she was later pronounced deceased at 10:53pm. The driver stated he stopped his vehicle and ran to the victim where he observed an unknown vehicle stop and steal the victim’s purse, then leave the scene. CPD’s Accident Investigation Unit responded to the scene & initiated an investigation which is ongoing. Columbus has had 29 fatal traffic crashes resulting in 31 fatalities in 2020.
