Lee F. Kerschbaumer Death – The authorities have confirmed and released the identity of the man who drowned over the weekend in Muskingum River as 50-year-old Lee F. Kerschbaumer of Strasburg in Tuscarawas County.

A friend of the decease, Joseph Puckett told the deputy the two were in the area to camp and fish when Kerschbaumer decided to go swimming that night.

Kerschbaumer body was found shortly after 4. p.m on Sunday by the Dresden Fire Assistant Chief David Lacy.

His body was found about five miles north of the boat ramp at Lane’s Landing in Dresden.

According to Lacy, one of the cadaver dogs found the scent and jumped into the river, leading to the body surfacing.

“We had a hit on sonar, and one of the dogs began barking and jumped in,” He said.

The search was called off around 2 a.m. Sunday and resumed the recovery at 7 a.m. Sunday, says Lacy.

It is believed that alcohol was a contributing factor to the man’s drowning, says Lutz.
