They were pulled from the East Mountain Reservoir and taken to Saint Mary’s Hospital, where they were later pronounced dead, says the Waterbury Lt. David Silverio.
The police, fire and medical personnel were called at about 6.40 p.m to the reservoir on a report of two individuals who fell off an air mattress and went below the water surface, says Silverio.
Following preliminary investigation, the air mattress capsized, after which the two struggled in the water.
After the search for the teen and the man by six agencies, they found them under the reservoir.
The searchers were from Waterbury, Prospect, the state police and from a regional dive team.
According to Silverio, detectives and members of the city’s Crime Scene Unit handled the investigation.
