Demetrius R. Jones Death – The acting Berks County Coroner Jonn M. Hollenbach on Wednesday, July 29 released the identity of the Reading man who drowned after leaving a small boat on Hopewell Lake in French Creek Park while fishing with his family on Sunday, July 26 as Demetrius R. Jones, 27.

Jones body was recovered on Tuesday afternoon by the water rescue team after a tiring search by several search teams which stretched for three days.

About 1.15 p.m on Tuesday, his body was brought to the shore by members of Boyertown-based Keystone Water Rescue and Recovery.

Jones was pronounced dead by Deputy Coroner Bonnie Clark at 1:25 p.m. Tuesday.

An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday in Reading Hospital.

According to reports, the search for Jones began shortly after 5:30 p.m. Sunday when officials got the  alert on an incident in which several people, including children, were clinging to the side of the boat and one passenger, went missing.

Investigation still continues to determine how Jones went underwater and drowned.
