James E. Anderson Death | James E. Anderson Obituary – James E. Anderson, 58, dies after reported altercation with family member that occurred at a residence on West Locust Street on the 30th of July 2020. Mt. Sterling Police officers were dispatched to 133 W. Locust St. around 9 a.m. to a report of a fight in progress, MSPD Det. Aaron Noel told the Advocate. When authorities arrived, James E. Anderson was found unresponsive. He was transported to Saint Joseph Mount Sterling Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased, Noel said.
According to police reports, there did not appear to be any weapons involved and an autopsy was performed on Anderson on the 31st of July 2020 in Frankfort. According to reports, local individual jailed on manslaughter charge. David C. Hedges, 31, of Mt. Sterling, was arrested and charged with manslaughter, first degree. He is lodged in the Montgomery County Regional Jail. Hedges is reportedly Anderson’s nephew, authorities said. Witnesses claim Hedges started an altercation with Anderson outside on the side of the home, Noel said. Hedges was reportedly helping work on the home, which is owned by another family member, when Anderson arrived, Noel told the Advocate. The altercation allegedly occurred over items in the home, according to witness claim.
