Maurice Petty is known for building almost 250 winning stock car engines but he also drove in NASCAR Cup races but quit cuz as he said “I was a stroker & we dont have strokers in this family!” Hes portrayed as “#41” but actually drove the #42 in 11 races & only 9 in 41. As we enter New Hampshire Motor Speedway with sorrow hearts over the losses of Maurice Petty & Bob Bahre this past week, let’s also take the time to reflect & remember those who lost their lives at that same track 20 years ago: Adam Petty & Kenny Irwin, Jr. ??
