Charles Insko Death | Charles Insko Obituary – Charles Insko a 43 year old Kentucky kayaker who fell while trying to help a woman with his group was found dead several hours later, officials said. According to reports, Charles Insko of Paris was kayaking with a group of about 13 people on Stoner Creek in Bourbon County when they encountered a dam, witnesses told authorities.
According to WLWT5, Kevin Kelly, spokesman for the Department of Fish and Wildlife, told the Lexington Herald-Leader that the kayakers got out of the water to go around the dam. After they got back in the water, Insko’s kayak started drifting back toward the dam. A woman in the group tried to help him retrieve the kayak but fell into the water, Kelly said. Insko got into the water and pushed her downstream but lost his footing and was pulled under, Kelly said. Insko went missing Sunday evening, 2nd of August 2020 near the dam, officials with Fish and Wildlife and the Bourbon County sheriff’s office said. Reports says Insko was found Monday, 3rd of August 2020 about 150 feet from the dam, said Maj. Brent Wilson of the sheriff’s office.
