Identities of the couple involved in the Murder-suicide in Redding Revealed – Reports says that Edwin Pehr Fredrickson, 79, killed his wife Elizabeth Ann Fredrickson, 62, before killing himself on Tuesday morning, 4th of August 2020. Officers responded to a welfare check around 2:18 a.m. Tuesday morning to husband and wife tenants, after family members received a voicemail from the husband stating he had just murdered his wife and was threatening to end his own life. When RPD arrived on scene, they attempted to make contact with the husband at the front door. However, he was uncooperative and was armed with a knife.

Reports from KRCR News says that some officers went to the back of the house to locate the wife. Upon entering the house to give her medical attention, RPD discovered she was already dead and had obvious signs of trauma. When the husband saw the officers in the home, he began advancing at them while stabbing himself with the knife. According to reports, RPD used a taser to stop the man from stabbing himself, and then called an ambulance that transported the man to Mercy Medical Center. The man later died of his injuries.  officers found notes allegedly handwritten from the husband inside the home, in the letter, he confesses to killing his wife.
