John Hamilton Death | John Hamilton Obituary – John Hamilton died on Wednesday, 5th of August 2020 in Newport Beach at the age of 78 from COVID-related complications. John Hamilton played pivotal roles in the establishment of the USC Athletic Hall of Fame, the Newport Sports Museum and the Lott IMPACT Trophy. Hamilton founded the Newport Sports Museum in 1994, and it housed sports memorabilia and taught about Newport Beach’s local sports history.
John Hamilton the Orange County native served as the first chairman of the USC Athletic Hall of Fame from 1994 to 2015 after he was one of the primary driving forces behind its development. Hamilton, a 1964 USC graduate, was inducted into the Hall of Fame upon his retirement as chairman in 2015. He is survived by his wife, Kathy, their three children, John Jr., Kate and Jill, 10 grandchildren, and a brother, Rick.
