Earlier today I found out Arcelio Garcia of the super group Malo passed away. He was a client, a friend and in many ways, a mentor. I have known Arcelio since I was a kid having crossed paths with him on numerous Tierra gigs. He was tough, smart, loyal and he lived and breathed Malo until the end. In recent years my wife Daphne Salas Puente got very close to Arcelio and his incredible wife Elsa. We were always excited to hang out with Arcelio and Elsa at numerous oldies shows. I am honored to have played a role in protecting the Malo trademark for him and to have help him recover royalties he never knew existed. He will be missed in a big way…
