David Morris Death | David Morris Obituary – David Morris sadly passed away, Morris was a school legend and teacher, he was an inspiration to many. David was an inspiration to many he contributed greatly to his community and county.
The Old Tiffinians Rugby Football Club are devastated by the news of the passing of school legend and teacher David Morris. Dave was a widely adored icon of Tiffin Rugby coaching the 1st XV for over 40 years.
First and foremost, we would like to thank him for being the foundation of the OTRFC and dedicating his life to giving generations of Tiffinians their love for the sport. The decades of cold and wet Saturdays down at Grists where he’d stand tall and proud in his antique brown puffer jacket unphased by the conditions. For the tours, Ireland, Italy & Canada to name but a few which were described as “basically a stag do”. For the comedic brilliance that would make any situation, any loss just that little bit better. For the copious friendship groups and brotherhoods that he built from our first Grists run in year 7 to our last game in year 13. And for making us believe that regardless of how rich, well drilled and big our oppositions were, we could go out and beat the “POSH TWATS!”.
Dave’s commitment to making each and every one of us feel a special part of his teams was a golden and unique gift. A coach, mentor and friend to every Tiffinian who wore the blue, white and red hoops and he will be deeply missed by us all. We are sure that wherever he is now, he is stood tall on the touch line, with a huge smile, a golden Mediterranean tan and a strong opinion of the referees decision.
We hope that in the not so distant future we will all be able to sit, drink and share hours of stories in honour of Mr Morris.
