Charles Michael Colburn Death | Charles Michael Colburn Obituary – Charles Michael Colburn, 67, of Weaverville who was believed to be a missing swimmer was found dead in Whiskeytown Lake Thursday night, 13th of August 2020. According to Park Superintendent Joh Hoines, a swimmer was reported missing around 8:22 p.m. According to news reports from abc7KRCRNews, Park officials called in the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office and the California Highway Patrol to assist in the search for the man. His body was found around 10 p.m in the lake near the intersection of Whiskey Creek Road and Highway 299.
News reports says that his family has been notified and an autopsy is scheduled. The case remains under investigation by the Shasta County Coroner’s Office and the National Parks Service. Park officials reminded visitors to swim with a friend and wear a lifejacket.
