Green was among the two victims shot to death on Sunday around 7.45 a.m in the West End on Linn Street, says the police.
Green was a youth football coach in the West End Lil Senators league which he also grew up playing in.
His friends says he’s more than a coach but a father figure to his team.
According to the president of the West End Lil Senators youth football program, Rob Harris, “One thing about our program, we connect with everybody. We connect with the kids, walk the neighborhood. That is something that Green would do, whether that is walking them home, coaching them up, making sure they were on top of their schoolwork. Sometimes he would take funds out of his own pocket to give to the young men on this team.”
Upon the arrival of the paramedics to the scene, Green was pronounced dead.
The Cincinnati police are still investigating the incident, but so far no arrests have been made.
Neighbors, friends and family vow to keep Green’s memory alive.
“Most importantly, he loved his family,” says Harris.“He has children and we are going to continue his legacy in trying to uplift his family.”
A GoFundMe account has been created to help his family with funeral expenses.
