One Man have been Arrested in Connection to the Liberty County Shooting that Killed 3 People – According to news release, Authorities in Liberty County have arrested a man after three people were killed during multiple shootings at three homes on Monday, 17th of August 2020. The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office said, deputies received a call around noon of three separate scenes at homes along County Road 4901, not too far from Highway 90. In all, five people were shot, including a father and his adult daughter who were air-lifted to the hospital with gunshot wounds. The sheriff’s office said the suspect, Michael Wettstein who is 60 years old surrendered when he spotted authorities.
According to reports from abc13EyewitnessNews, Deputies said all of the people involved lived on the same street in at least three residences. Two of the deaths were in one home while the third was in another. A third house was where the father and daughter were wounded.
abc13EyewitnessNews said Investigators have identified them as Marvin and Ananda Rumley. A shotgun and a rifle were recovered in a wooded area nearby. Deputies believe those were the weapons used. No children were involved in the incidents, the sheriff’s office said. Wettstein is expected to be charged with three counts of capital murder. Additional charges are expected as the investigation continues, according authorities.
