Hector Rocha Death | Hector Rocha Obituary – Hector Rocha, 83, of Houston, Texas, died following a one-and-a-half month fight against COVID-19 on the 15th of August 2020. Hector Rocha owned Rocha’s Boxing Gym, located on the 200 block of Luther Street on Houston’s northside, where heavy hitters past and present learned how to roll with the punches.
According to Click2Houston, Hector was an immigrant from Mexico, who was a beloved and legendary boxing coach, mentoring hundreds of area youth over the years. A funeral service is scheduled for Aug. 28 at 1 p.m. A public viewing will take place at 10 a.m. There’s also a fundraiser to keep the gym open, which Hector Rocha, Jr. said will remain a priority.
