Harbor Drive Death – The authorities have confirmed the death of a man who died on Wednesday August 19 after a fatal collision with a pickup near the San Diego International Airport.

The police reports that the crash occurred at about 10.35 a.m on Wednesday in the eastbound lanes of Harbor Drive near the U.S. Coast Guard’s station, when a four-door sedan collided with a pickup and cut-off a utility pole.

According to Harbor police Sgt. Timothy De La Peña, the car came to rest in a westbound lane — about 150 feet away from the utility pole.

The roof of the sedan was cut off by the firefighters to help extricate the driver, who was trapped in the wreckage, says the authorities.

CPR was administered on the driver but he passed on before getting to the hospital, says De La Peña .

The driver of the pickup was uninjured.

The investigation is still ongoing.
