Benjamin Hackbarth Death – The Monroe County Sheriff Office have released the identity of the man who was killed in a fatal crash on August 15 on Highway 16 just west of Sparta as 31-year-old Benjamin Hackbarth, of Sparta.
According to Sheriff Wes, Hackbarth was pronounced dead at the scene after two vehicle had a head-on crash Saturday night on Highway 16 just west of Sparta.

The fatality occurred around 9:28 p.m. when Hackbarth was traveling eastbound and collided with a westbound vehicle driven by Joshua Walske, 24, of La Crosse.
Walske sustained minor injuries and was treated at the hospital.
The investigation is still active.
