The Chairman of Melbourn Racing Club, Peter Begg Lawrence has died. Peter Le Grand, Chairman Melbourne Racing Club; Former Radio Football Commentator; Retired Insurance Exec;Former Mayor & Councillor City of Waverley; Justice of the Peace announced the passing of Lawrence on Twitter.
Peter Begg passed away on February 4th, 2020. We are yet to learn his age. Further details on his death has not been released.
The Melbourne Racing Club is deeply saddened with the passing today of Legendry Committee member & former Chairman in Peter Begg Lawrence. Peter made a very significant contribution to the MRC over his 31 yrs on Committee & 11 as Chairman. Rest in Peace Pongo.
