According to news reaching us, the police cordoned off the area of Cadzow Glen on Sunday after a body was discovered at 10.50 a.m the body discovered is believed to be that of a missing 16-year-old girl. The police said 16-year-old Amber Gibson also known as Niven, was reported missing from the Hamilton area on Friday, November 26.
Her body was discovered at 10.15 a.m. on Sunday, November 28. Her death is being considered as unexplained, according to police, and an inquiry has been initiated. We have reported on forensic officials wearing white safety suits swarming the greenspace.
Experts spent hours photographing the entrance to Cadzow Glen, which is still closed to the public today. Police said the death was being treated as unexplained and urged anyone with information to come forward.
She added: “As we continue our inquiries, there will be an increased police presence in the area. I’d like to thank the public for their assistance so far and ask anyone with information who hasn’t already spoken with officers to contact us.”
Earlier: A teenager named Amber Niven has been reported missing in Lanarkshire. Amber Niven was last seen around 9.55 p.m. on Friday, November 26 on Cadzow Street in Hamilton.
Authorities are growing increasingly worried for her welfare and are asking the public to be on the lookout for her.
