Amber Leist death & obituary: 41-year-old off-duty Los Angeles County Sheriff’s detective has died after she was hit by a car on Sunday, January 12, 2020 in Valley Village, near North Hollywood.
Det. Amber Leist was struck by vehicle at about 11 a.m. at the intersection of Riverside Drive Whitsett Avenue in Valley Village after helping a woman cross the street.
Amber was a 12-year veteran of the department assigned to the West Hollywood Station, she was returning to her car after helping a pedestrian who had fallen when she was hit.
