Another Mississippi Inmate Died Of Terminal Illness –  Bobby Neil McFalls, 64, passed away on Wednesday. His death is the second in MDOC custody in a week, and the 51st since December 29th.

The number of Mississippi prison inmate who has died in State custody continue to rise,It is not clear if the death is COVID-related.

The inmate, Bobby Neil McFalls, had been hospitalized since May. He died Wednesday afternoon. Sunflower County coroner Heather Burton said McFalls was being treated for a terminal illness before his death.

His body was sent to the state medical examiner’s office for an autopsy for an official cause and manner of death, MDOC said.

McFalls was serving a life sentence for murder and seven years for residential burglary, both of which were committed a month apart in 1975 in Harrison County. He had been paroled three times since his initial sentence on Oct. 21, 1976, for the burglary. He last returned to prison in July 2002.
