Fernandina Beach cross country and track senior, Ariana Delfs, recently passed away from the Epstein-Barr virus, better known as mono.
According to WJXT news, Delfs started with cold and flu symptoms just three weeks prior. Her symptoms began to progress at a rapid rate leading to her contraction of mononucleosis — something doctors had tested for but couldn’t detect early on.
