Audrey Newsome Death | Audrey Newsome Obituary – Audrey Newsome; the founder of Keele’s student counselling service in the 1960s has been confirmed dead. In 1962, Audrey arrived at Keele as the Assistant Appointments Officer in the careers department and quickly realised the emotional difficulties students faced during university, and the lack of formal mental health provisions in place.
So she created Keele’s student counselling service which was the first of its kind in the UK during the 1960s. The cause of death was not included.
