Michael Tyron Terrell Death – The Virginia State Police have identified a tanker truck driver who died in a vehicle crash on Monday as 60-year-old Michael Tyron Terrell of Gordonsville, Virginia.
The fatal crash happened on Monday after Terrell’s truck hit a car that had broken down and was on the shoulder of Interstate 64.

According to Sgt. Michelle Anaya, the crash happened shortly before 2:40am on the eastbound side of I-64 past the exit for Hampton Roads Center Parkway.
Two occupants(a man and a woman not identified) were in the car that broke down before the tanker truck went of the roadway hitting and pushing the car into a wooded area. The tanker truck then overturned into the wooded area too. The driver of the tanker was trapped and died at the scene.
Following a rescue exercise to get the trapped man out, a fire fighter was injured but later taken to the hospital for treatment.
According to Sgt. Anaya, the two occupants of the car were not under life-threatening conditions but were taken to Riverside Regional Medical Center for treatment.
It was reported by Anaya that it took a long while before Terrell’s body was pulled out of the truck. It is still not certainĀ what caused the tanker and driver to go off the road.
